These will be the first vendors you need to book. This group includes your venue and photographer. Your venue should absolutely be the first vendor you book because many other vendors will not allow you to book until you have this locked down (just in case you find a place you love but you have to change your date to book them). 2. Vendors who are in high demand
If you see on social media that a vendor has posted to book them soon because their calendar is filling up, they are 100% right! It's not a ploy, they really do book up that far in advance. But don't let that deter you from sending an inquiry to your dream wedding vendors. Be up front and honest with them about your expectations and it is likely that they'll be able to accommodate you and you'll be able to add another rock star vendor to your squad.
3. Vendors who match your wedding style
Chances are, you already have an idea of what you want your wedding day to look like. Sometimes your vision has already been shaped by vendors' social media or portfolios, which makes the vendor search that much easier. If it hasn't, have no fear! That's the beauty of wedding planning in this day and age. Vendors LOVE to showcase their work online, so finding your dream wedding team is right at your fingertips. Go to Instagram or Facebook and peruse through their work and you may just find your dream vendor while also getting some great ideas for your special day.
4. Vendors who match your personality
The fact of the matter is there are some vendors who you will spend a significant amount of time with leading up to the big day. There are even some who you'll spend more time with on wedding day than you will your new spouse. You want to make sure you mesh well with these types of vendors to make your day that much more magical. Vendors who you have a connection with are also more likely to understand your vision and make it the most spectacular reality on your big day.
5. Vendors who match your budget
This is probably one of the biggest contributing factors in your vendor search. You have a budget and you need to stick to it. Figure out what aspect of the wedding is most important to you, whether it's your dress, photography, or your food, and allocate more money in your budget to that particular category. Then do you research and find out what is the typical price range for each vendor. You may be surprised by what's out there. Once you get some rough numbers, talk to some vendors and be honest with them about your ideal budget so they have a better idea of what type of services from them fits in your checkbook.
